Some more about me and how I work

I'm Jared, a lead software engineer with a passion for design and user experience.

As someone with a product mindset, I excel at interpreting designs and product requirements and translating them into executable engineering plans. Sometimes this looks like drafted tech proposals, reviewed and discussed—and sometimes this looks like jumping into code, and iterating on product features in the browser.

One of my favorite things about engineering is building quality features quickly and optimizing them for change. My goal is to create intuitive and enjoyable experiences for users while making development as efficient as possible.

In addition to my technical skills, I am a strong communicator and thrive in leading conversations and problem solving with product and design teams. I understand the importance of collaboration and communication throughout the development process.

I stumbled upon engineering through video production and sound design while in college. After tinkering with AR and VR development for various projects, I realized my favorite part of the process was building user interfaces. This led me down the path of frontend engineering—falling quickly down the rabbit hole into being a full stack engineer.

When I'm not coding, you can find me in Indianapolis, Indiana, booking my next surf trip or dialing in (likely Ethiopian) espresso.
